Thinking About Swapping My 94 F150
I'm a big guy,6'3" and 280,with some back problems and arthritis so I need a roomy vehicle with leg room.
Yesterday evening I checked out a 93 F150 Supercrew 4X4 with a 5.0 139" wheelbase near me that's mostly in very good shape,except for 3 issues.
Cosmetically it's as nice or nicer than my 94.
For some reason, unknown to me and the current owner BOTH exhaust manifolds have cracks in them, somebody tried a cheap fix and smeared some putty like substance on them
which stopped most of the leakage but they really need replacing. The only thing I can think of that would cause both of them to crack in the same place is when the truck was hot it either got partially submerged in deep water or doubtfully the manifolds were splashed by cold water when hot.
The other issue is when in Drive as it slows to a stop it has a slight shudder. It's not the brakes as it doesn't do it in neutral. The trans shifts fine otherwise and has no other issues with the trans.
It does have a slight miss but I think the fuel injectors just need a good cleaning, hopefully.
It doesn't show any codes and no warning lights came on during a good long test drive with everything from light off roading to check out the 4WD,city traffic to some 55mph drives ,wide open throttle blasts and hard stops.
The guy is willing to trade me even up as he doesn't want the 4X4 because of gas mileage and doesn't need the bigger cab.The 93 is actually worth more than my nice 94 according to KBB.
My biggest concern is the trans shudder when slowing to a stop at low speed, any ideas?

I'm gonna assume you meant supercab since there were no crew cab 1/2 ton trucks in this series unless it was a Centurion conversion, and if that's the case it's completely under powered with a 5.0 so that could be why the manifolds are cracked. That said aftermarket exhaust manifolds are junk and often crack after very little use. 4x4 won't have any impact on fuel milage if the front hubs and T case are working correctly because when they're disengaged the whole front drivetrain is disconnected and doesn't spin so it's exactly the same as a 2wd truck. Trans shudder could just be low fluid if no codes are coming up.
