can you put a 93-97 interior in a 91 pickup?

IMO the only part of the newer interior that is better then the old bricknose trucks is the interior door panels... the power window/lock switches are correctly located on the armrest not down on the bottom of the door like the afterthought they were in the earlier trucks. But you'll want to keep the lock linkage system from the old doors, the cable operated interior door levers found on the newer models are absolute crap and constantly breaking. Otherwise the dash layout is worse.. looks like they forgot to include an audio system and at the last minute decided to hack a hole in the middle of the dash for it. Overall if you haven't got the door panels this is not an upgrade IMO, but if your interior is shot and this donor is clean then I can see why you want to change it. There should not be a lot of wiring changes necessary if both trucks are similarly equipped and you definitely do not need to change the EEC because it doesn't control anything inside the cab, but going from a mechanical speedo cluster to an PSOM driven setup does complicate matters, do not expect the harnesses to be a simple plug and play swap.

My main problem is major wiring issues under my dash. Since I have the complete wiring for under dash from a 97 and the dash, door panels and all. Thought it would b easier than trying to find another 91 wiring. Plus I like the looks way better of the 97 style, wipers at turn signals are nice as well.
And to.tjc transport what is.the problem with the.transfer? If I am changing dash, the mounting should work.there, plugs will line up with the 97 wiring so the only issue I can see is maybe where it goes through the fire wall and where it goes into steering box.
Thank u for ur help

the 92 and up uses a short column that stops directly under the dash just like a car does. as a mater of fact, the panther class car and truck columns are interchangeable.
the 91 and older column is full length all the way through the firewall to almost where it connects to the steering box.
the electrical will not work either. different sensors and controls between the EEC-IV on the 91 and OBD on the 96-97 trucks.
not sure about the 92-95 trucks.
91 and older does not have the multi function switch in the column, and if i remember correctly there is no room to put one in to adapt the 92 and newer wiring harness.

don't limit yourself to 91. all 87 to 91 is interchangable. try to get as much as you can.
if you have power windows and locks, look for that in the donor truck. also, gas for gas, diesel for diesel. but not between. there are differences in the wiring.
and if you can, get the under hood harness that mates to the cab harness you grab if it is different year and different engine.
there are minor differences between under hood harnesses. not big but they are there. you may find the alternator wires are too short or too long, oil pressure sender wires are too short or long.
sometimes under hood to cab plugs are different between years too even though they look exactly alike.
i am fighting that demon rite now swapping a mint 87 cab onto a 88 truck. identical cabs, but different wiring. and my 88 harness is shot.
with patience and time, it can be re-pinned and wires lengthened/shortened to make most everything work.
but it will be easier to have the rite stuff to work with at the get go.
