Less than a month away from Truckfest and I still don't have my trucks out of winter storage. Today we're getting snow flurries as I type. This damn global warming is a PIA. The very least you think it could do is stretch our driving season. The trucks are in a pole building in the back of the farm, there's a cow lane about a 1/4 mile long that is rutted from my kid driving his tractors up and down it and it's frozen solid with 12"+ ruts or 12"+ of sloppy, soft mud.
I have to get the trucks out of their winter slumber to make sure the F-2 is ready for the trip to central IL. A month might seem like a good amount of time but it'll go fast.

Well Homade was put to bed on Nov but about a month ago tranny fluid was running across the garage floor and it hadn't even been started let alone been driven. Got it to the garage and on the lift and can not find anything leaking so now I'm wondering if it will make it to Truckfest but we are going to find out, just gotta get some extra tranny fluid to bring along on the road trip, Garry

I have two cars that sit unstarted for months at a time. The Mercedes will after a few months seems to "puke" out a quart or two of trans. fluid. I have had it on the lift and no leaks. I can only assume for some reason the torque converter loses fluid after setting unused for months. I have had the same issue with my Cord, which has a Chrysler transmission. Both operate fine and do not leak a drop if you start them ever few weeks. It seems to only be a issue after two or three months of setting. There will suddenly be a puddle of transfluid under them and the week before nothing under them. My solution is to start them every few weeks and have had no further issues.
Good luck with homeade and looking forward to seeing you again.

Man time is flyin by for me....I have been workin too much! I have been to Chicago several weeks and Michigan and St Louis...back to Chicago, back to St louis, then Rantoul, IL and Still another round coming....All work and no play make Jeff frustrated...
I am going to be assigned to a 2yr project starting around the end of May. 1.5 hr drive each way...probably working dawn to dusk, and Saturdays...my truck is gonna be feeling neglected me thinks...
Sure picked a good time for truckfest for me. I am ready!
