Both spring shackles replaced

I replaced both rear spring shackles during the past 2 weeks. The passenger bracket and the shackle needed to be replaced. the drivers side just the shackle. I used 2 hydraulic jacks to lift the back of the truck. Then I used an old railroad jack along with jack-stands to support the frame. The railroad jack was too short so I used a piece of a tree stump to give me the correct length. The rivets were a real PIA but came off with a grinder. Replacing the bolts and nuts was a real treat. To push the spring into the shackle I used an old screw jack with a 2 X 4. This jack allows you to make small adjustments so the bolt will go in without any problems. The drivers side only needed the shackle but it was a worse job than doing the entire replacement. The bushing in the spring eye just did not want to come out. I broke 3 drills trying to go through the rubber bushing. I ended up using the blue torch to cut out the last bolt on the shackle. Now the job is finally finished and I got the truck inspected yesterday.
