Why do you think the straight thread would be more likely to loosen?
Just by the design....a straight thread is a running thread....a pipe thread is an interference fit and can be self sealing. Grab a 1/4-20 screw and 1/4-20 nut...put them together....where does the nut stop? At the head.

Thanks for the info.

The pressure transducer just screws into the back of the fuel bowl?

I think Rich had a diagram of the fuel system posted here somewhere. There's a pressure port downstream of the filter.....there.

NPT (pipe) threads are tapered, so they naturally bind up and self-seal as you tighten them.

Pikachu, you think we will need more than 6 feet of probe harness? They have a 13 ft option for $13 extra.

Could always use the shorter version, penetrate the firewall and then splice in normal wire...way cheaper....more work.

I'm pretty sure 6 feet is enough to get inside the firewall. From there, my plan is to use a junction block of some type. It couldn't hurt to have the extra length with the stainless braid on it, though.

For the fuel pressure transducer, you'll need to find a bushing to convert the straight threads to match the 1/8" NPT pipe threads on the transducer. I don't remember what size the threads on the fuel bowl plug are, but maybe someone else can post it.

Thanks Tuggles.
So placement of the pressure sending unit here also means you would know if the fuel filter is clogged as well, since youre getting you reading right after the filter, yes?

Does the 1/8 NPT thread just screw in?

No, you need an adaptor. I think it's 1/4", but I'm unsure as Clay included the fitting in my Fuel Pressure gauge kit.

It's really nice to order something and everything you need is in the box. Clay... that's my guy.

Tuggles Snuggles, Pikachu, will either one of these work ? Is there a fitment issue around the bowl for the pressure transducer?

I haven't quite decided yet. I'm leaning toward trying to find a lower dash panel from an F650 and mount it in that. If that doesn't pan out, I'm considering mounting in the spot on my dash where the ESOF control would be if I didn't have a manual transfer case. I haven't really made a firm decision yet. I'm one of those people who needs to consider all the options before I proceed. Sometimes, that's a bad thing . . .
