Suggested mods for 99' F-250?

I inherited my dads F-250 a couple months ago after I got my Drivers License and have been trying to get it back into working order. (Dad drives a 2011 F-150, F-250 sat under a tree).
It's has had 1,000-5,000 miles a year for the past several years, so sitting hasn't been the kindest to it...

First it had a P-0300 misfire on all cylinders, mechanic had to give up on it after cleaning all sensors and diag testing!
Changed all the boots and springs, fuel filter, swapped coils, etc.. Nothing helped.
Ended up convincing my parents to let my get a set of Accel coils for it ($250 for all 10), NO misfires since!! Although I swear I hear a rythmic "tick" that goes along with RPM and load.

What I actually mean to ask!!!

Whats a good aftermarket grille for it?
Rear door locks don't work at all, front doors work some of the time.
Are headers/exhaust system worth it???
Anybody had these beasts repainted? Being the work truck, my family hasn't been very nice to it... (until lately when I start yelling at them for looking at it funny )!

I love the truck so much, Ford all the way!

Thanks,
Cole

The Accel coils will fail, just a matter of time. The tick is an exhaust leak or possibly a plug blowing soon. There are some options for headers out there, you get what ya pay for. Keep the cat and run straight pipes or a Magnaflow.

What's wrong with Accel coils?? They got great reviews..

Don't think the tick is a plug, just replaced all 10 plugs.
It blew the #8 plug awhile ago, but threads weren't harmed. Just screwed the plug back in and replaced the coil.

Is exhaust worth it?
I don't care about sound, but if its gonna work better than stock I'm all for it.
Best manufacturer??

Exhaust may do a little for performance but not much. The Accel coils are known for failing, most aftermarket coils don't last. The tick is probably a broken exhaust stud(s)

Thanks, I'll look at the exhaust studs.

What about a K&N cold air intake?
They claim 15HP boost.

Headers on these aren't worth the money and headache to put on. Put a 5 star tune and y-pipe on it with a good muffler. There are threads on here about the different mufflers avilable. If you call Mike at 5 star tuning he can steer you in the right direction on bolt on parts that are effective. CAI's sound good and do boost performance some, but considering the price one costs, it is your preference if you want to spend the money.

Awesome!
K&N CAI is like $215, kinda expensive.
No idea how much a cat back system is though.

Sadly when dealing with these trucks, $215 is pretty cheap. Although i would not be inclined to put a K&N system on my truck, ever. A full cat back system will probably be in the $3-400 range for aluminized and a hundred or so more for stainless. You can just replace the muffler if you want, the stock 3" piping is fine

Why wouldn't you put a K&N in?

They have higher flow rates because they don't filter much

Yep, stock air intake and stock exhaust flow just fine. A muffler will just make the sound different. If you are looking for mpgs, best bet is to inflate your tires to the proper psi, good maintenance and easy right foot

I am gearing up to install a new y pipe the stock is restrictive, and am looking into a new muffler, still on the fence which way to go on that. Seems anytime you can let the air flow in and exhaust flow out with less restriction the better the performance. I think the engineers at K&N might have an argument about less filtration from an oiled unit compared to a paper stock filter.
