EGR nut size at manifold

Got my manifolds changed out today...gonna button everything up tomorrow, Here's my thing, I bought a new EGR tube($58)and as I was working on the truck I noticed all that's wrong with the EGR tube is the nut is completely gone, the tube itself is fine no rust, so I was thinking if I cut the flange and put another nut on there and re-flange it it'd be good. So can anyone tell me what size the nut is, and has this been done? or will the tube be too brittle from heat to re-flange...Just trying to save $58, that's a set of wires....Thanks!

i never tried to flare one but I did by a 3/4" npt brass plug at the local hardware store to plug my manifold temporarily, my tube was way to gone, sounds perfectly fees-able if the tube is still "thick and healthy"
