sensor or sender 1996 150 4.9

Was tuning my truck and was adjusting timing seen something white on block then seen a wire connector with the end of a sensor or sender in it. Can't find what it is in my book it's between the coil bracket and the distributor has two wires in plug anyone have any idea what it is
