1971 F100 Rag Joint Help

replacing it is not a big job. There is four bolts in the joint that usually get to be a pain. Loosen the clamp on the colum and the two under the dash holding it up.(this will allow you to slide the colum up a little) put the new rag in place then slide the colum back and get the bolts started. then tighten the colum up then the joint.

Steering shaft has a flange that steering coupler ('rag' joint) bolts to. Coupler has splines that retain it to splines of input shaft of steering gearbox using a thru bolt to tighten it.
C9UZ-3A525-A (replaced C9TZ-3A525-A & D3TZ-3A525-A) .. Steering Coupler-Same for M/S & P/S except 1975 / Obsolete
Applications: 1969 Econoline / 1969/74 F100/250 2WD & F350 / 1975 F100/250 2WD & F350 with M/S only.
No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any NOS / Available from autoparts stores, manufactured by Dorman Products.
Autoparts stores also sell just the rubber portion [originally it made from tire carcass (!) that has threads woven in it-hence 'rag' joint].
But, installing just the rubber portion can be a time consuming, cussing PITA!
