turbocharging an F100.

Title says it all, I have a 78 f100, 300ci, three on the tree, no power brakes, no power steering, 3800 lbs full of fuel and driver.
The plan is to fabricate an intake, install a throttle body (dodge Durango), fuel injectors (fi 300), turbo (7.3 powerstroke), intercooler and piping (Amazon), and to top it off with a megasquirt to run the show.

three intakes worth of parts for three different project trucks.

2" box tube, not light but matches the port shape pretty well.

the plenum is .100 wall 3"x4" , the runners are .250 wall 2"x2" flange is 1/2" now. after fabrication and coating i plan on taking a skim cut across the face of the flanges to square them up.

im still looking for a turbo, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pump. any suggestions would be appreciated.
for background i thought the 7.3 powerstroke turbo would work because while the engine is around 50% larger in displacement the diesel maxes out at 3K while a 4.9 can spin to 5k theoretically, a roughly 60% difference.
(7.3/4.9)=1.48
(5000/3000)=1.66
good numbers!
So i'm thinking i move as much air as the diesel at redline (3000x7.3=21,900 litres) at a nifty (21,900litres /4.9 = 4469 rpm!!) so theoretically i move plenty of air to spin the turbo and I may be able to stay out of boost if i keep my foot out of it because the diesel starts building boost at 1600 rpm.(1600x7.3=11,680litres) vs (11,680/4.9=2,383 rpm). so im hoping for the low end grunt of the 300 to get me to 2,300 and then i should build boost quickly to somewhere between 12 - 16lbs.
as you may have noticed i don't take into account volumetric efficiency, cams, exhaust temps, fuel delivery or a host of other variables, this is just a rough estimate but it seems like it makes sense to me.
feel free to weigh in.

I was going to mention turbo lag, but it sounds like you are actually counting on it. I keep toying with the idea of turboing my 300, but shooting for a 3K rpm max and about 6 psi of boost. I would want the turbo to spool fairly quickly.

I'm interested in seeing how this turns out.

Yeah, I'm going for a Jekyll and Hyde sort of truck, as I cross 2400 rpm it should go from ho hum to holy torque. It'll probably take me the rest of the summer to it going, it's kinda my daily and my pregnant wife kinda thinks I'm not going to be hot rodding it. Should be fun.
