Performance filter and chip questions

I seen for bang for your buck 6637 air filter is the best route. Not the best eye candy though haha. Is there any other filter setups people like ? I found a white pipe with k&n stile filter for around 175$ but from what I been reading the k&n let in sand and dirt. Any other filters worth lookin at?

I was reading also about performance chips on the sticky. I want a ts stile chip with a 6 position "switch on the fly" ****. I read the ts performance chip is no good because their just preloaded tunes ? It seemed great for only250$. I don't want a expensive screen tuner/ stile chip. I only want the chip you add to the PCM . With the **** to select

Is it correct since my truck is all stock injectors I won't see much gain? I have turbo back exhaust on its way and after that I'm going to buy an intake then hopefully a chip

You guys are the experts, so I trust everyone's experience

TS style chips are the best ones for our trucks, but you do want custom tunes. I wouldn't worry about a chip until you get some other supporting mods like injectors, HPOP, etc. You want gauges before anything though. You will need the gauges when you start modding the engine.

C'mon Bill! I completely disagree. If you want to really mod your truck all at one wait on a chip. If you want to just wake the old gal up, get a chip! Great investment. Just make sure you've got a few supporting mods and gauges.

Well, yeah, you can wake it up with a chip. I waited to do my chip until I could do injectors and stuff all at once. That way when the next and final wave of mods come around, I'll have one reburn and that's it.

That doesn't happen either Bill. I can't count how many times I've had mine reburned.

Right, I forgot to add gauges are coming in spring, Exhaust temp pyro boost

I also did see the 6637 cover stainlessstroker, that does look nice

Coming from my 96 f150 to the stock powerstroke is a change for me. The 5.0 really hauled out. I thought turbo back exhaust, intake and chip would wake up this truck

Isn't there any tuner people selling ts stile chips on the forum here?

This is one I saw on eBay

A chip on a stock truck wont hurt much.

Just make sure to get a downpipe so you get that air flow on the turbo to keep the EGT's down with the chip.

Yes I read that first, I was ready to buy the ts 6 position chip with "canned" tune for $250 until I read this.

I want to know whats the best reasonably priced chip for my truck. The only thing ill have done to my truck is the intake and turbo back exhaust

I believe PHP is still the best price for TS chips. However, you can buy the canned tunes and have them re burned for around 350 total. Each tuner is going to have a pretty loyal following on here. You can't go wrong with any of the big name guys.

From what I read is it true ill only gain maybe 60-80 horse running on stock injectors?

I wonder if I can still get the 100 and 140hp setting and just not use it until I upgrade my injectors. Or will the tunes all have to be changed?
