Spotted SUPER DUTY TEST TRUCKS
IN Rhome, TX on 114 I spotted two super duty white crew cab all in black masking driving behind me. I tried to slow down to get a better look but couldn't they stayed back. I pulled off to pull into work and one passed by. Awesome looking front end from what I could tell and just like the Atles truck that are concept. There was a lift to them and I'm sure 4x4 BUT ONE BAD THING if so, no solid axle!! urr IFS In the front. If true then Ford has been convinced like most to trade in the old axle up front and go with a softer ride. Anyway what I could tell was very impressive stance and over all look of the truck even though it was covered up for the most part. It has a tailpipe just like the Chevy trucks have, straight out the back under the rear bumper. Bazooka tube. Just thought I would give an update on this, I have never run across any testing vehicles so it was cool to see.....

Maybe. LOL I could tell there was a great big oval in the front covered up but could see it poking through the black cover. I thought when it passed by it was a GM truck but I think they just came out with their new truck so Ford is working on their new Super Duty to bring out. Has to be a Ford from the front but the back it did resemble a GM HD truck. Like I said earlier it looks to be nice looking stance.

Ford used to do this in the OBS trucks from '80-97, that weird effed up D50 TTB in the 250s and some 350s from '80-'86, and the D60 in the real 350s. It wouldn't be a reason to cry if they went back to three front suspension options, as long as the SFA is still there, and a SFA F350 can be had with a 10k# GVWR for people in states with weight issues.

Saw 3 last fall but they were so cladded up I couldn't even tell a make for sure. They were doing almost 10 over in a pretty bad speed trap area so I couldn't catch up and take pics, they also didn't get over for me as I was getting on the interstate. Was about 6am.
IFS is fine with me and we do more offroad work with ours than the vast majority of people. Never been a problem with any of my F150's and they do ride nice. I'd say 90%+ never see anything other than pavement most are just a status symbol daily driver so they better do something about the ride. IF they were going to split SFA and IFS I'd leave SFA for Cab and chassis only, those are the trucks that are going to be used for work in the vast majority of cases.
