Both these part numbers were replaced decades ago. Get a copy of the 1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog, take a look-see on page 40.

Brake master cylinder is basic part number 2140 / Basic part number 2130 = Kit-Rear AIR Brake Adjuster Retaining Washer.

1948/52 F2/F6 & F3 Parcel Delivery; 1951/52 F5/56 COE; 1953/56 C500/600 & P350: B9J-2140-A / Same as 1957/66 P350 Parcel Delivery.

1948/52 F1; 1953/56 F100: AO-2140-A replaced by B3C-2140-A

FoMoCo is in-famous for replacing 10's of 1,000's of part numbers EVERY YEAR!

The individual and multi-year bound catalogs used 1948 thru 1956 have basic part numbers for u-joints, trans parts that were replaced by different basic part numbers in 1957.

Look up, for example, front/rear u-joints for 1948/52 F6's in one a these catalogs, then try and find them. Lotsa luck!

Member w/a 1951 F6 was looking for u-joints for TWO YEARS .. I found them for him in 30 SECONDS, because...not only had the basic part number been changed, but so had the prefix & suffix!

And, if you don't have O-S-I (Obsolete-Supercede-Interchange) Catalogs to verify if the part number was replaced...or not, you're SOL! Because you're probably looking for the WRONG part number, like 91T-2140 !!

faxonautolit.com has some, but what you really need is the two volume 1991 O-S-I catalog on microfiche. FoMoCo combined all the catalogs used thru 1990, put 'em on two 1991 microfiche slides.

'Course, you'll also need a microfiche viewer.

I have the 1991 microfiche O-S-I, plus 1994, 1996 and 2000 versions...how many other FTE members have any?

I have 41 years of Ford parts experience, how many years of Ford parts experience do any other FTE members have?

I have dozens of bound paper, loose leaf, microfiche and CD parts catalogs and bound paper Master Cross Reference Catalogs, most FTE members have ZERO!

1928 thru 1989 Ford truck parts catalogs are available on CD's from hipoparts.com

I find it utterly ridiculous that people with no Ford parts experience. no Ford parts catalogs, argue with those that do.

I am very grateful for your priceless (yet free) assistance. I have used information that you've posted over the years in helping others. I'm attempting to keep our F500 close to stock. You'll get no guff from me!

Well, Bill, I guarantee you I will never argue with you about Ford parts.

And one of these days, I'm going to take you up on your previous, generous offer to teach me how to read the books.
