A lady out in that area was just dumping 50lbs bag of cat food outside for the feral cats. The lion discovered this and came down to eat that food and would use the cats for dessert. Soon this thing would wander the neighborhood and had no fear of humans.
I got called out there one night. Soon i realized this thingwas stalking me. I would shine my light it andit would duck back in the bushes and then try and come around behind me to sneak up. No noise or lights seemed to scare it away. Finally it was able to get pretty close and launched at me. I managed to get one shot off at it as it was in the air coming at me and got it square in the chest. Thing ran off and died about 25 feet later.
I lucked out. A few hours later a person was killed by one in LA.
