Painted Visors

I was wondering if anyone out there has ever painted their sun visors and how did they look. I have a set of white ones that will be easy to change the color, but I'm unsure what my end result will be.

Whatever ya do.. use a paint intended for vinyl. And make sure you clean 'em well cuz that Armor-all crap wreaks havoc if painted over.

Also, paint them a dark color. The dark area within your viewshed while driving causes your pupils to dialate and reduces the need to squint when it is sunny. It's the same principle when baseball/football players wear "eye-black".

I would try a dye kit before attempting to paint them....with dye you can vary the color based upon the time spent submerged in it, and it wont chip-off like paint.....

Not to hijack the thread, but where do you find to replace that little gromet on the end of the visor that helps keep it in place in its clip? Mine broke and now I have a rod only situation which falls out.

I just finished painting mine, 68 F250 Camper Special. They came out great!!
Make sure you use the Vinyl Prep like they recomend. (this is the key!!!!)
I used the SEM paint and Prep, folowed the directions and they came out Great!!
I got them at my local O'Reilly's store.
I don't know how durable it is yet, just did them about a month ago but they look great.

Painted mine 5 years ago with vinyl paint, no problems at all. The little grommet I got from LMC. Don't know if they still have them.
