Exclamation I need help with a part number

I need a egr carb spacer plate for my 76 f250 360 2barrel. I have order 2 from ebay that I thought would work based on appearance and they have ended up being wrong lesson learned. My truck has the port in the intake manifold on the passanger side. My old plate broke to peices when I removed it so I don't have a great idea of how it should look.

Can someone get me a part number for the CORRECT plate? I'd also like to see a picture of the plate that matchs the part number before I order another incorrect one.

That is an incorrect part number. Ford's part number system uses a basic number to identify a part in general. Example, all distributors are basic # 12127. It's the prefix and suffix that identifies a particular distributor D6TZ-12127-A.
In this case, the basic part number 9A758 refers to throttle cables, not EGR spacers.
I tried to find a picture of this particular spacer but all I came up with were "generic" pictures that I could guarantee were correct.

I went back and reread the old thread with the part number. I don't know how I wrote it down wrong but its def wrong Thanks for the help. I emailed the places you mentioned so I will have to see what they say and if they can send me a pic before I order. Really dieing to get my old truck put back together and cruising again.

One last question will the new one be cast aluminum or iron?

There is no parts catalog picture.

I was searching on here yesterday and came across a thread that was similiar to my question and someone said to get part number D7PZ-9A758-J
Invalid part number, 9A758 is the basic Ford part number for an accelerator cable, but there's no such thing as D7PZ-9A758-J.

You copied the number down wrong, probably from one of my posts, as I've typed the following part number dozens of times: D7PZ-9A589-J .. EGR/Carb Spacer Plate-Cast Iron.

Factory installed EGR/Carb spacer plates were aluminum. Heat caused them to melt internally, they also tended to get plugged up with carbon.

FoMoCo 'service part replacement' cast iron EGR/Carb spacer plates replaced the POS aluminum plates.

D7PZ-9A589-J cast iron EGR/Carb spacer plate looks totally different than the original aluminum POS, but uses the SAME gaskets.

In addition to the sources Mike listed:

NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 3 = 972-937-2201.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has 4 = 607-722-5371.

$50.00 isn't a bad price. I've seen them go for $75.00 on E-bay.

Na I didn't think $50 was bad at all I was expecting alot worse. The shop at Waxahatchie Texas had them for $45 but they didn't have a toll free phone number so I went with Green Sales in Ohio instead LOL.

If the new plate is cast iron I don't mind spending $50 because it should last forever. Just wished I hadn't bought the other 2 plates I don't need... at least for now always keeping a eye out for a nice swb 73-79.

D7PZ-9A589-J = Last MSRP: $48.42 .. Dealer net cost: $26.63.

50 bucks is a fair price. Can you imagine what High Buck! Bob "Snake" Allen Ford would ask for it if he had any? Probably...QUADRUPLE the last MSRP

Parts that are available from Ford, or obsolete parts? I've listed obsolete part numbers that Allen has 100's of times. In fact, so many times that I've memorized their toll free phone number (800-676-0675).

Members that have called on these obsolete parts, have said their prices were outrageous!

I called them once inre to a companion flange for a friend of mine who has a 1962 Falcon. No one else had the part. Last MSRP on the puppy was 12 bucks, they wanted 150 bucks!

Please explain how you know what the MSRP is. Do you have access to Ford's in-house dealer website?

Probably not, so you're only going by what the MSRP is on parts invoices. FoMoCo dealers can change the MSRP by 'jacking it up' .. some do this by as much as 50%

Type a part number and MSRP from a part you bought from Allen, cuz this I gotta see!

This prolly won't be much of a battle Bill. It's a little unevenly sided.

Well I got the spacer plate today. The box says d7pz-9a589j but the actuall spacer is stamped d7pf-9a589ja is this correct or did I get screwed 3 times in a row? I haven't set it on the truck to see if it would work or not but the bottom gasket I have for my truck fel-pro 60205 doesn't match the plate correctly there is a gap around some of the area where the plate goes into the port on the intake manifold.
