Need some help on this decision
Well, I have a 1993 f150 xlt. Got it for 1800 and I've had to do alot of repairs to get it going. But both rear fenders have had work done and have gray primer all over the sides. It kinda looks trashy and I've considered buying a new bed and have seen two for sale on craigslist that match the red and white colors on my truck. So what should I do, leave it as is or buy a new bed. BTW I am on a limited budget but how much should I even pay for a replacement bed?? Thanks, Nick

Maryland? If the bed you have is in nice shape and the repairs were done right. Butt welded, or flanged with adhesive etc. Not fllanged with welds.. that = rust.
Keep ur current bed.
But here are the prices usually.
Rust / dented -150-200
Rust no dents -200-300
No rust dents 300-500
Rust free good cond - 500+
Perfect cond 800+
But all truck beds have rust. They are rusting from in-between the inner and outer fender. It's just a matter of time before it shows through. Don't let anyone fool you. This is also advanced by fords factory spot welds in the area. The only true rust free beds would be from south west... Dry very dry areas. Or a garage kept vehicle. Salt has nothing to do with bed rust. It just helps speed it up(salt in the air) not sitting on the fender lips. All these beds collect dirt and crap behind the fenders and moisture from the air and a opened middle post hole give it a nice nest to spread.
I have a thread on this stuff in the body work forum.
