It is really starting to come together.

What is going where the original heater controls were?

A small sheet metal cubby. I have the dimentions I need to make it, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Also, I wasn't sure if the stock glove box fit with the new A/C unit in place but it does. I figured I'd have to fab something up for that as well but nope, everythings cool. Even plan on puttin' in the glove box light.

Duplicolor for engines. Dark Ford blue. Thanks.

No probem. I enjoy toying with my automobiles. Always have. Never been afraid to try things either. Lord knows there's tons of info on how to do just about anything these days. Wish all of that info was available back when I was 16 modding my first vehicle. Can't recall how many times I blew fuses, motors or windows(with wrenches).......

Quick question

I am going through the same efforts on my 74 short bed trailer special. this might seem like a basic question how do pull the dash frame is it welded in or bolted. I have not done anything on the inside the cab we had the truck blasted (dustless blasted) less rust then we expected. any way if you can give me some idea on dash frame removal that would be great

If I recall correctly....take the dash pad off first and drop the steering column down......there are two main bolts on the left and right lower side towards the bottom front of the dash....may be 1/2in bolts?? Also should be one down near the ash tray connected to a brace. I think that's all once the dash pad is removed and it can be lifted out. If I'm missing something, then hopefully someone will chime in and help out....it's been so long since I've had it in and out I've plum forgot especially since I've been working on getting the new motor and stuff wired up.

Thanks....I thought there was something like that around here......

And just to update the thread....sorta....here's the dash in it's current state. In the process of being wired up. Hoping to have the rest of my parts ready in the next few weeks so I can turn over the motor, check the electrical systems and roll on down the road for a maiden voyage...

Cool thanks for the info we have the bed off and installing a djm drop setup removing the factory dual tank to make room for dual exhaust unless we can figure out how to run the exhaust and keep the dual tanks but the fill tube are a pain with newer gas pump in Cali. lots of rust in the floor due to having mats in the cab but other than that clean

Well I am not a 2wd, let alone lowered working on kinda guy, but it takes some interesting work to get true duels on a 4x4 with a transfer case and side tank to get them to be a split side dump past the rear axle.

Fenderwell exit headers...piece of cake.

Maybe these pics will help?

Hey that first pic is mine. I don't have a side tank though, just the aft tank and no transfer case to contend with. My little brother has a 2wd long bed with side tank and true duals, it has many bends and full tail pipes, I'll try to get you some pictures of that as well to see. I don't know if I will see him today.

I copy and save what looks like a good idea.

Did you ever think about flat bracing/reinforcing the bottom of the crossmember? Just curious. Very nice x pipe install BTW.

I have thought of adding plate to the vertical part front and back, to allow the bottom to stay open and avoid collecting anything. Im also thinking I may go tube cross member once I get an OD transmission.

What about a double din head unit or some lcd screen thing?

I did a really quick search and found this guy: hhttps://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1122668-1978-f250-custom-interior-redone-20.html
