Good diesel shops

I live 20 min east of Dallas Texas does anyone in the area know of a good deisel shop close to do some work and mods on my 99 f 350.
It has lost some power and fuel milage and I dont know where to start.
It is completly stock exept for a mid range chip. I would like to start with the exhaust and do everything needed but dont know if that would help the power or milage any suggestions.

First place I would look is up pipes, and then check for boost leaks in the inter-cooler system. Those two areas will drop your mileage numbers quick when they need attention. I seem to remember a TX member that was a diesel mech up in DFW area. Someone will chime in soon with a good tip for you.

PM CHEEZIT. He's from that area and a former 20 vet to the Ford stuff. He may be able to help.

Don't pay to have your truck fixed, let your FTE brothers help....

If you can make the drive down to Houston one weekend, myself and maybe several others would be more than happy to host a mini-tech day to get your truck running properly and maybe better than when it left the factory.

Should you decide to come down for us or myself to work on this for you, at the bare minimum you'll need the following things:

-This will solve whatever top end leaks you may have: Riffraff Diesel: "Mechanics Parts Cabinet" Combo kit

-You'll also need two quarters to shim the UVCH if for some reason you don't have the updated harnesses

PM me and we can get this sorted...

Man, I guess I had to much wine last night. You said the same thing I did way before and I didn't even see it! Didn't mean to repeat.
As far as what Toreador said I agree. You'll save THOUSANDS of dollars. And they really aren't that scary. You don't have to pull the cab for head gaskets, you can do it in your driveway by pulling the front clip. And once you get that far in it you're done. You've been as far as you need to be. Patience. I've actually had people let me call them from this site to walk me through certain little tricks. But if you don't want to wrench on it I understand. It's not for everyone. I just know this is my 5th diesel truck and by far the most complicated, but once you really get in there it isn't bad at all. The biggest headache to me is dropping a little nut, clip, faster, etc while everything is together. POOF.....It's gone baby! Mine eats parts in the little rubber flap on top of the engine mount. I found all kinds of goodies in there when I did head gaskets from the previous owner I guess.

I used to drive I think 50+ miles to get my truck worked on by Eric @ Specialized Diesel in Crowley, Tx.
817-240-7286
Which meant me usually waiting around for it. But he has rebuilt my tranny, changed water pump, installed crossover tube without removing anything, changed balljoints, blower motor, pcm, etc. Also talk me through a repair I had to do on the side of road.
Gives the same warranty on tranny rebuilds as Ford, 12months/12k miles. Quick turnover as well, if it's there and he has the parts, it's getting worked on.
I'm about 70+ more miles away and if i can't find someone up here then i will drive 120+ miles. lol

Eric is where I take my truck. It's a bit out of my way too, but his prices are good and he is good at what he does.

In the Sherman area now. Is Cheezit anywhere north of DFW?

Hopefully I can find someone up here like him. If not, it will be a long day/drive or a very expensive tow bill. lol
