Good info and now you have me wondering if I have the radiator set in the correct position. I'll have to take another look at it.

On my tonner panel I didn't realize the difference in radiator placement until everything was hooked up. The front clip came from a 6 cyl truck and I have a V8. Well it still runs cool and I have a lot more room to mess with the distributor if needed. I don't have a fan shroud and I tend to run empty and live in a moderate climate so I get away with this placement.

It isn't just the radfiator placement. Parts are different. I can't remember the name of that top piece in front but the 6 had a shorter one than the V8, maybe other things too

Just got back from looking over my configuration. The radiator/support bracket are set in the aft most set of holes in the crossmember and the four (2 each side) forward inner fender bolts go thru the aft set of holes in the fender brackets. The upper radiator grille air deflector is the deeper(longer) type. So I guess this is the correct configuration for the V8 trucks????
I know for sure that if I ever have to do some serious engine work in the future, I'm going to remove the front clip as a unit and not in pieces. There are lots of bolts in tight places on that front end!!!

Got my turn signals mounted and wired up. We ran a ground wire to each light and are really pleased with how bright they are.

Today I installed some fog light on the truck. Still need to get them wired up. They are pretty bright and I thought they would be good daytime running lights.

The weather here today was just beautiful and I just couldn't resist pulling the truck out of the garage. Actually I couldn't resist taking it around the block a few times. This is the first time the truck has moved, under its own power, in 20 years. The purr of the engine, the whine from the tranny, and that old truck smell really brought back some memories. I still need to install the door glass, door handles, and interior panels but she is getting there.

While we had the truck out in the daylight, we noticed that the taillights are so dim you barely notice their on and the break lights are only marginally better. Already painted the inside of the light silver so maybe look for a brighter bulb??

Check your grounding. All that shiny new paint is not conducive to electron flow. BTW, you get brighter light using white paint instead of silver on the inside of the housing.
