I have always liked that paint code on the OBS Fords. Looks like a pretty clean truck, any plans for her?

Yea, I want to clean it up service it completely, I'm planing on putting on dual exhaust turn it out by the rear wheel. Its a 302, 5 speed, with 138,000 miles. I would like to either pit a tubed bumper with a skid plat on the front or a push bar of some kind. For now since I have a brand new set of 5 6 ply tires the size that is stock on this truck I won't mess with that.
Then drive it & enjoy it.

Thanks guys. That truck was bought in a small rural Nevada town when there was a Ford dealer here & I'm buying it from a friend that he & I go back to the 60s in the same town this truck was bought new. In fact he is the third owner of it. Second owner is also a friend & he hardly ever drove it. So most to the miles were from the original owner who was a LEO here in this small town. I'm up here because my wife has a four month contract with a California school district just over the border 58 miles away. We will return to Arizona in June.

Howdy Craig had to come in to this thread to see all the response you got on your new truck. Sounds like you got a lot of good up grades ahead. When you get back in Arizona can't wait to find the right hill to help you push that blazer off with. I hope it treats you well compared to your other truck and your blazer.

Trav,
To be honest my 86 Ford was the only Ford I ever had that left me stranded. I even blew a 302 Ford engine one night & it got me back to town & home. With a valve through the piston. I use to drive 70s Ford F550 & F650 that had core drills mounted on them across Nevada, out of Idaho to Reno NV Most of those didn't have a bunch of miles but the were beat to crap & never once did they ever leave me stuck on the road.
But I sure can't say that about GMs
This Ford is going to serve me very well I'm sure. My friend has owned this truck for 10 years & drove it if he needed it. He is a former parts manager for a Chevy dealer & a big time collector car person, that owns several collector cars. So he know vehicles & everything I have ever bought from him has been good. He just doesn't need it he has 10 licensed vehicles to drive.
I paid for the truck today & my buddy & I took it to our property today.
I will license it next week when we are in Arizona, then I can get it insured & drive it. I want to get the inside detailed mainly get the seats cleaned. They are dirty & a good cleaning will freshen up the inside. There is a detailer here & he told me around $50 to do the interior.
