2001 V10 TPS Low Input Code

I have removed the throttle position sensor and it appears to be a spring loaded potentiometer. I have tried re-installing same working sensor and cannot seem to get it right or i broke the damn thing! Is there a trick? This is the one with the three pronged connector with the two tabs where it links up to the shaft end on the throttle shaft... I have searched and can't seem to find the answer to this one. Thanks ahead for any help!!

FYI... I picked up a new aftermarket sensor (made in the USA) at a local parts house and cleared the code... and runs smooth again!

I don't know where to read the voltage, seems to be running fine!

If memory serves, there is a lot of play between the TPS and the throttle shaft. You put the TPS into the throttle shaft and then rotate it to line up the holes. "Preloading" the spring, so to speak. Sorry, can't explain it any better ...

I had other issues that I had taken care of... Fuel rail low pressure. I read a number of posts and replaced the 5 year old fuel pump. filter was changed TPS changed out and runs great again! One note, the tranny shifted hard up through the gears when the TPS was giving the low input... Thanks!
