Lug Pattern Question

I am looking at purchasing a 1976 Boardman Fire truck to convert into a car hauler and am looking for a alternative to the original multi-piece wheels. All I know is that it has 10 lug wheels, not sure about the particulars of what hub etc it has n it. anyone have any Ideas as to where I can find a modern one piece aluminum wheel for a tubeless tire?

You've not given us much to go on, but here goes with some assumptions. Boardman is a company that does conversions on all brands of truck chassis. Since you've come here to ask your question, logical assumption says it's Ford based (don't laugh, we do get questions here for different brands!). Second assumption then is that the 10 lug pattern would be on an 11.25" bolt circle (also recorded as 285.75 mm) because Ford C and F-700s and bigger models of that era have that pattern. Next then, building upon these assumptions, wheel catalogs put out by the National Wheel and Rim Association (NWRA) show that Ford 700 through 1000 series trucks of that era used tubeless 22.5" and 24.5" wheels falling into NWRA catagories X-49280 (22.5" x 6.75"), X-49290 (22.5" x 7.5" wide), X-49310 (22.5" x 8.25" wide), and X-49350 (24.5" x 8.25" wide). All having a Dual Cap Nut (DCN) mounting system. Also called a standard "Budd" mount. Also called "stud piloted". Also called "ball seat". The next part of your question is about aluminum tubeless wheel availability. The below link to the Accuride catalog lists their products that meet the above assumptions. Go to their page 15 for the tubeless aluminum stud piloted offerings. Hope this helps. If some assumptions are wrong, please come back and we can try again. Stu

Stu, thank you for all of the assumed information. It is a 10 lug wheel, past that im not real up on the truck, what I know is it is a regular C cab (the guy that is telling me everything is a volunteer firefighter at the fire station its at. it was bought from a neighboring city's fire department for a token amount, and they found out the pump is bad after replacing all of the junk pump gauges, if the cost of the pump surpasses the price they payed for it, it will be sold. Gotta love insider information) He seems to think it says 700 on the door badge, its gas and a 5 speed manual. I will be going to look at the truck here soon. Also though I did state I was looking for aluminum wheels, I am open to steel as well, just figured that it would be easier to find them in aluminum. Thanks again for all of the help. Will keep you posted

When you see the truck take a tape measure along. Measure from the center of one lug to the center of the one straight across. Should be 11.25". Dodge also used this pattern. There is also a 10 x 8.75" pattern that was used by GM and IHC, just in case that's what you find. Good luck with it. Stu
