In my opinion, most of the people on here put way too much thought into the starter. I just go with what will reliably start the truck and then put the rest of my brainpower into what happens once the truck is running.
Im getting a new starter for my 7.3 but dont know what to get. What do you think is the best brand for starter motors

take it to a local auto electric shop & have them re-build it...let them know any concerns you have and they will adress that as well. Typically cost less than anything you could typically buy & of better quality and less $

1st gear works so well, though, lol. Naw, I've got the truck in the garage for a little work, I guess I'll get around to fixing the parking brake here soon.
