16 inch wheels down to 15 inch

Hi, I have a 1985 F250 2x4 pickup. It is 8 lug with 16 inch wheels. I am looking to buy some beadlock wheels in either the 16 inch or 15 inch size. I have found some that are 15 inch but I don't know if they will fit. How could you tell if the 15 inch wheels will fit the truck? If they wouldn't fit does anybody know anyone selling some 16 inch 8 lug beadlocks for reasonable?

Thanks a lot,
Scott

Personally, I would stay with the 16's...

One reason is that it is easier to get heavy duty (E-rated,10 ply) tires for the 16's..

Also, the 8-lug pattern for the 15's (if you find them) would be more expensive..

As for the 15 in wheels you mentioned, I don't recall any 8 lug 15's on the F-250's....Of course, I have been wrong before...Trav..

All the 8-lug 15's I've seen have been custom jobs. Mainly for axle swaps where load capacity wasn't a concern but available tire sized are.

With the advent of tires in the 17+ sizes I think you're barking up the wrong tree for an 8-lug 15" beadlock. But that's just me.

Edit: Here's some...

Now the question is whether or not the 15's will clear the brakes. I've got no idea on that one.

When I first got my f250 it had a mixture of wheels, stock 16.5 on front and 15 x 10 wagon wheels on back with 33-12.5 tires. I was going to get some 15s to put on the front and match the back but they hit the caliper and would not go on. So I bought 16" black holed rims all the way around and even them hit the caliper bolt untill it made a little "clearance".......ron

Um, this is a 2 wheel drive?

I assume then you want simulated beadlocks.

Here's some in 16".

16x8 Ford Chevy Dodge 8 Lug Alum Beadlocks Fake 174 ion Wheel 8 on 6 5 | eBay

Here's some more in 16 and 17...

Eagle Wheels Series 137 Black

Also, you do know that true beadlocks aren't street legal right? Lots of 4x4 guys run them without issue but I can't see any reason to spend the money or risk issues with Johnny Law over a 2wd truck.
