2000 v10 will turn over but not start

Never had problem, drove it to work ran fine. Got in to leave turns over tried to start but won't, then just turns over. Locked it up came back next day started right up idled for about a minute stalled out then no start. Just cleaned MAF about a month ago, oil level good, no check engine light. Could it be CPS,IAC, fuel pump?

Sounds like no fuel pressure. Check the pressure at the rail when it does this.

The "turns over tried to start but won't" definitely likes like it fired on the left-over pressure, but then died when the pressure disappeared.

Whack the gas tank with a 2x4

Sounds like the problem I had with mine - also a 2000 - intermittent fuel pump... Replaced the fuel pump and it's run fine ever since... Can you hear the pump prime when you turn the key on and it's a no start??? Every time I couldn't hear the pump prime, it wouldn't start...

I'm having the same problems with my 01 f-350 v10. I can get in it and it starts and drives fine till I get to where I'm going then turn it off. Then when I go to restart it a few minutes later it'll start (sometimes) idle rough, the revs increase to around 1,500 then coughs sputters then dies. I have to wait for a minimum 20 minutes before the grande' blanco pig will start again and act like nothings happened. I've had to get towed twice in the last 2 months. Took it to a Ford dealership and explained what it was doing, they had it for two days and ran diagnostic tests on it and couldn't find a single problem. The truck has 84,000 miles and otherwise has been very good to me. The mechanic was stumped but was leaning towards replacing the fuel pump. Weird thing is, they did a pressure test on the fuel pump and said it was up to correct pressure. Help!! Thanks!

If you press on the accelerator pedal a little will it start? Could be a bad iac or fuel pump. Do you have a pressure gauge u can take with u to check it when it wont start?

Thanks for replying so fast Rick. No I don't have a pressure guage to do that. 2 days ago it actually died on me while I was going about 50mph on a two lane rd with no shoulder. Got lucky and coasted into a nursery driveway. It coughs and sputters, revs irradically to about 1,500 then dies. Had it towed home and ofcourse it fired right up..

Missed the first part of your question, yes sometimes but mostly starts then dies with no pressure on the pedal.
