Starting Issues

My 1994 Powerstroke takes a lot of cranking over to start, typically 2-3 sets of 20-30 seconds of cranking. just replaced glow plugs and gpr. While cranking plenty of smoke comes from the exhaust, just will not fire. Also as of recently once it starts oil drips from somewhere on the front of the engine, possibly from all the cranking? Is it possible the engine is not turning over fast enough?

Is your fuel bowl filling up? Next time you go to start it pull the plug in the hpop resevoir and make sure its full before you try.

Was it cold outside? White smoke mean fuel is getting in, sounds like your batteries are old or worn out, I had this problem when I changed to optima'swith lower cold cranking amps, new batteries solved the problem.
