Lowering rear of my 56

Going with fatman front suspension on my 56 f100. I,m really wanting to go as low as i can with this truck. That being said, as far as the front i would maybe get the 2 inch drop spindles to go with the fatman. Fliping the axle on the rear, if i need too maybe remove some springs also. How low can i go on the rear without getting into a lot of issues? Planning on c-notching rear frame also. If i went with the drop spindles on front would i be abe to match the rear by just the axle flip , c-notching and removal of some springs? Thanks HaroldMac

jrockdiddy how low did the drop spindles get your front? I would like to go ahead and do them as i working the front. I have had some tell me to wait and run the stock ones first. But i can send the stock spindles in on the drop one if their still new. Also what size tires are you going to run? Thanks HaroldMac

Nice job Jrock.

Little advice, once that truck is finished and painted, rearrange that garage wall, it's an accident waiting to happen, trust me, I know.

Drop shackles and losing a few leaf springs is a great way to lower it. Will ride and handle fine. 4 springs will put you in the weeds. 5 better if you are going to use the bed. I have run both, 4 leaves the last 5 years. I am throwing the fifth back in when I get a minute. She sits a little lower than she once did. One leaf will usually raise or lower under an inch, give or take.

Rich, yelp garage is a ***** storm. Truck should have its own garage end of this year or early next.

Thanks for the info. I really do want this thing low. Its not like its going to be my everyday driver. I have always wanted one slammed. I think i will go with the swap out of the spindles and catch the rear up with it. Where do i start getting into the bed? Will axle swap to top and taking out of a few springs be getting close? Thanks

With a No Limit drop, and four leaves, no C channel, mine sits low as I would ever want. No driveabiity issues but plenty low. I have never bottomed out, but rarely have any cargo in the bed either. I can measure or take PICs when it isn't 0 degrees out if that would help. May be some iPICs n my old galleries. The No Limit Engineering drop shackle is a very nice piece. I think you want to order that for sure.

Well the ride height looks good. I,m thinking of going with 18s. I really dont want to tub the floor. But like i said, the truck will not be used to haul nothing but my a**. Just want everything to come together at once. Got to get all this behind me before i start on the looks. Looking at hot rod black. Still too far away to say yet. Thanks again

what size tire is that jrock? Nothing some more drop and more rubber wouldn't cure.

Best advice I can offer for most any nod is "find the line". Don't care if you are lowering, buying tires, making more HP, whatever...

There is almost always a line that if you cross, the downside becomes not worth the small amount of good you think you are gaining in looks.

Hear me know, believe me later.
