so how much would you pay for a engine that needs the crankshaft replaced?

 

Why does the crank need replaced? I wouldn't pay anything until I was sure I wasn't buying a boat anchor.

 

Id pay what the scrap yard would offer. Sounds like an entire re-build is needed, if the main bearings are shot that motor was run hard. If the bearings are shot Id say the crank could have been scored past the point of machining. Is it a complete motor with all the bolt ons and injectors?

 

yea i replaced the engine in my truck so i have this one sitting here the crankshaft main bearing went out the others are fine im debating if i should replace the crankshaft and try getting my money back or keep it as a parts engine
