A friend has been tuning for me and one of his friends has basically same setup as me besides he is running the holder h2e turbo and have had no issues

Not sure on that but was going in yesterday to make some more changes but it blew

bad timing is the main cause of engine failures on our trucks.

=)

Even big tuners run crazy timing.
And they will pay for it when they have some customer issues..

Advancing the timing might net you some lower EGT's and a few ponies in the gain, but your just running a ticking time bomb then.

Too much timing will raise the egt's, not lower them..

Got it out last night and the pan off and crank broke just towards the front of #2 main bearing got a couple pics but will get some better ones tomorrow when I pull the crank out and will get those up

5 will get you 10 that the timing was advanced too much and the fuel ignited early enough on the upstroke that it shoved the piston back down. I will bet you will also find a bent rod and or damage to the piston pin bore.

Can't wait to see the pics. It takes a lot to kill the bottom end on these things.

And all the bearings look like new and there is 230k miles just got to figure out we're the coolant got into the pan from

have the con rods checked and gauged to be sure they didn't get damaged.

I'm guessing the coolant in the pan came from the broken front cover. And yeah, that's some pretty impressive carnage to still have the conrods intact.

ok got the pan off my new engine to reseal, it has a 2000 emission label but was wondering what the easiest way to tell i it has powedered rods or not think it came out of a 2001 truck

rod bolt's go into the upper part of the rod if i remember right
and they look nothing like the other rod's
