she called it quits yesterday

well she was running strong pulling hard and then just locked the rear tires up and i pushed the clutch in and pulled over went to load it on the trailer and had to use the starter and it cranked over but wouldnt start had oil all over the front of the engine and left a big puddle in the parking lot. started pulling it apart and found that the front cover is broke and the crank is moving in and out and up and down. guessing either a broke crank or i lost about all the main bearings and thrust in one shot.

Man that sucks. Not something that's common with these bottom ends, I know that doesn't make you feel any better.

One of the reasons it wouldn't start is because the CPS in your 3rd picture is supposed to be mounted over the cam gear in your second picture so the PCM knows when to fire the injectors.

Sorry to hear and see the news. Any funny noises or feelings before it went?

Well there's your problem....Your cam sensor is gone...JB weld it back in place and fire it back up..

Man that sucks. looks like something went round the front gears and blew it apart.

No abnormal noise noticed a little blue smoke out the stack at the intersection before she went and I was around 2800 rpm and on the floor pulling 40psi boost when it went nothing leading up to it for issues. Going to pull it out and put it on a stand Saturday after I get home from California and see what all is gone and broke will post pictures of the bottom end so everyone can see

Sorry to hear that man. I would expect this out of a 6.2/6.5 GM but not from a powerstroke.

Yikes!! That's some ugly looking carnage. That is an unusual failure if it was indeed the bottom end. I guess 40 PSI boost could do it, but the bottom end of these things is stout for sure and there are lots of guys running 500+ HP on a stock bottom end with no problems. I'm looking forward (kinda feels morbid to say it like that) to seeing what you find in there. What were the specs of the mods and chip you were running?

Sorry, I didn't look at the first post you made on the page to see your sig. That's a pretty stout build, but I don't think there is anything there that was too radical for a stock bottom end. Whose tunes were you running?
