Finally got this 3 projects done,
3G alernator swap,
Electric fan,
Front sway bar.

Take it for a spin yet with the new swaybar??... (no pun intended) . Tell us your impression on how different it feels...

 

Its day and night, the drive feels more solid especially when I turn,no more of the front corner digging in when I turn. Now I am looking for a rear bar so it can be a real solid ride for when I tow.But what a difference "I LIKE IT" also got all the front end done radius arm bushings,pivot bushing,tie rod ends,drag link and coil springs,got the alignment also,thank for the help to all of you

Thanks grinnergetter I made those out of 3"x 1.5"x 3/16" or 1/8" angle iron,The idea was to use the whole piece so I could cover the radiator core but it was to heavy and aluminum was to expensive for my pocket, so came out with this design which I liked how it came out,steal strong and looks like it belongs there at list to my opinion.

 

Now...where would one find a sway bar for one? I have a 68 with no ps and would that make any difference?

 

I found my at the junk yard,I would suggest a google search for sway bar for your model truck.
And yes it dose make a deference not on the steering,but on the stability of the truck for turning and sudden moves.

PS or not you can steal install a sway bar.

 

Looks great! I put j/y sways on front and rear awhile back and like the difference.

Is this a power strip? If so where did you get it, been looking for something like it. Thanks

 

Is that your fan controller? If so is it a hi - lo controller, just curious looks good.

70-360fe yes its a power strip out of a S-10 its located on the driver side above wheel well in the engine compartment, this one comes with the cover like the one I show in the pic, and the fan controller is a high and low out of a Volvo with electric fan, some have it in the front above fan,others are located passenger side behind headlight low ,the controller info I found in a google search. hope this helps it is easy to install,the fan switch on my radiator shown on the pic is a high and low from a BMW located on the radiator passenger side if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. now before you guys rag on me for using Chevy parts or Volvo what ever works is aloud.

Thanks for the info I will look into the strip next time I go to the junkyard. I pulled a fuse box to add extras a while back but did not like the looks of it when I got it home.

Ok I was actually looking at the temperature sensor (feel dumb now) not the controller. Looks nice and clean, I have the usual sensors everbody gets from autozone/advance auto. Did you have to weld a housing into the rad. for the sensor? Do you know the temperature Hi Lo settings of the sensor. Just curious has a nice clean look. Thanks.

And about using off-brand parts.. no ragging from me as there are GM parts on my Dentside.

Here's a funny story... ever since restified my 68 Mustang, the mechanical fan had a wobble because the 200-cube inline six came out of another wrecked 68 (Rear ended by a concrete mixer and yjrm pushed through a concrete block wall!!). I tried and tried to reset the blade pitch without much success. It had wobbled enough such that this is my third water pump. 'Couldn't use an off-the-shelf fan because of too much pitch with not enough room btwn the PS drive belt and the 3-row radiator. I searched and searched for an OEM fan for 16 years without any luck.

Last year, I was walking around the salvage yard and there was an old Dodge fire truck.... circa 1950s. Out of curiosity I looked at it and lo and behold it had a fan with a shallow pitch!!! Woohooo!!!! I ended up cutting off one inch off each blade and re-drilled the hub holes... PERFECT!!!!!!!
