At first it was just hard to open with the original door handle. After a little bit I pulled on it a bit harder and it snapped right off. So, I went out and got a new handle from O'Reillys. Now it is just not working all together. The outside door handle works. I used WD-40 on the cable and latch and still nothing. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

 

The piece that the handle bolts to is well know to break away the metal on the door that it is bolted to.Either that or the cable is broken.
Sometimes you can get away with putting a fender washer behind it to support it.But welding the door is a much better repair.Don't want to get locked in when you need to get out.

The cable also stretchs and you have to pull the handle farther to open the latch. Take one cable and off and twist it in the direction its already twisted to shorten it up a bit.

The plastic groove mounts on my cable assembly broke, which would not allow the cable release the lock assembly. I purchased the new cable with brass mounts from Makohose.com for $30 Each, problem fixed.
