2wd lift kit the same as a 4wd lift?

spacers
Forgot to add this, when I did the 4wd front end conversion, I had trouble with clearance between the springs and castle nut for alignment. I purchased some real big heavy duty grade 8 washers ($1.50 a pop, used maybe 8?), was able to shim up the spring mount about 1/2"-1" to clear it and keep enough threads showing on the spring mount. This did not translate to any additional height on the front end, just made for easier aligning... just something to think about before buying aftermarket spacers... maybe not the best option when you're replacing coil springs anyways and those translate to functional lift.

why lift a 4x4 when lifting a 2wd will do the same thing for you, most people including myself will not take a truck off road if I just spent over $1100 on a lift kit most trucks become show trucks after a lift so why not lift a 2wd instead don’t be the guy to say that only 4wd trucks should be lifted when you don’t even use 4wd after a lift so then what do you have a 2WD so what’s the diffrence

Ok. This renewed old thread came up when I searched so maybe post #17 answers my question. Are the 2wd and 4wd frames the same? I have a rusty bent 1990 frame with a fairly nice F150 300/6 AOD 4x4 on it. I can get a nice 2wd frame for a song. The body and engine will swap no question. Will the front axle and mounts swap as easy or even fit? Thanks.
