I was wondering if there are any aftermarket kits or brackets out there that would allow me to change the front disc brakes that I currently have on my 8-lug Dana 44 to the chevy style calipers and rotors. The reason I want to do this is the caliper brackets I have now have been broke for some time and every now and then allow the caliper to come loose which obviously is not fun. I want to do something similar to a rear disc brake swap, but obviously not go from drum to disc, but rather disc to better disc setup. Thanks

 

what is broke on the brackets? if nothing is broke maybe the shims are just not as strong as they once where.

 

On the bottom of the caliper brackets there is a threaded hole where a bolt goes in to keep the caliper shim in place. It has been broke somehow and someone has welded it up. It works fine for now, just would like something better. I think the design is not the best to begin with.
