Track bar bracket broken need advice

I have a 04 F350 6.0 4X4 . I was under the front of the truck today and noticed my track bar bracket has broken off of the axle. I called around and 90% of the people said to replace the whole axle. I had a few other said have it welded and renforced. has anyone eles had this happen to them and whats the best sollution for this.

Does it look like this on the 06?

I know that it's not a good photo. Here is a good image in this PDF Items 1,2 at the top

I see you may not be the only one this has happened to. This was on some other board
with some good photos

find a good welder and ask him if he would repair it. in the dealer world you would be buying some new parts. noone likes excessive liability. dealing with steer axels and suspension imo is asking for a law suit.
my .02 anyway

I am wondering if it could have been a week part from ford. I am almost sure that the guy that towed my truck home broke it. Because he wraped his hook on that side and when he was lifting the truck up I heard aloud pop . I placed a call to AAA to make a claim.

based on the impact damage that can be seen on what looks like the steering stablizer, the torn front bumper valance and the rust were its broken that i can see in the pic, im guessing that at best he finished it off but it was already damaged,
and why was it towed. you may have a claim if you have full coverage for colision damage but i would say its ot from transport.

Cheezit I'm seeing bad weld . Nothing deep to the other part, the rust hides some on my pics but still no deep weld marks,I didnt look at the vehicle state that it came from, and salt ? Hair lines cracks are hard to see so OP check all welds real close . tow truck just finished the break with pull weight

No cable or strap Marks, if cable line -there would be more damage .allthough front bumper lower scoop is pulled that could be transport ? If cable were there at the weld wrong place to HOOK yea. most transports use cable straps on the vehecles,so no steel touches the truck ,Whats the Other side look like OP snap some pics?.
