'94 F-150 5.0 to 5.8 swap?
A couple of questions. i have a '94 F-140 4X4 ext cab with a very weak 5.0, and have adopted a '91/92 5.8 Ford replacement engine that a friend pulled from his frame rusted reject. he had that engine replaced at the dealership, and i found the tag that is pinned to the motor, so i presume that it is a Ford reman? the engine has a bit less than 35k on it. when he pulled it, he oiled the cylinders and taped off the intake and exhaust openings. iot has sat for a few years, and i presume that it is still viable. my main question is: when rewiring the sensors on the motor, if the 5.8 is different, can i pull the 5.0 sensors, since most are new, and replace? also, is there a brain difference between the two? i do plan on installing a new oil pan and exhaust manifolds and valve cover gaskets and water pump before the drop in. anything missed here??/ thanks in advance for any pointers......

Both motors use all the same sensors so you can use whatever are in better shape.
Do no use any wiring that comes with the donor use the original 5.0 wiring only.
The TFI ignition module on your truck is on the fender while it's on the distributor on this vintage 5.8, but instead of modifying the wiring on your truck instead modify the 5.8 distributor to use a remote module(pretty easy to do) or find a later 5.8 distributor. And yes the 5.8 requires a different computer so hopefully your truck doesn't have a 4R70w trans because there are no 5.8 computers for it.

Thanks! i had suspected that the sensors were the same from looking up the applications at the online parts sources. i did see the differences in the distributor, and will get a 5.8 distributor and brain from a local FRIENDLY salvage yard. i have the EO4D auto, and will have to 'shop' the yard.
