ford escape engine fire
We were on our way home from the mountains sunday when we pasted a new ford escape on fire. The escape was going up hill so we assumed that the engine fire was the result of an overheating problem. I see ford has a recall on this issue which states a fuel line defect. I might suggest any escape owners be very allert. Also, assuming that the escape has a electric fuel pump in the fuel tank . . . should there be a fire, after stopping, turn off the inginion so the pump will stop feeding the fire.

Escape and Fusion with 1.6L Eco-Boost have a defective valve cover gasket. Oil seeps out onto exhaust manifold, vehicles may catch fire.
Ford has recalled all these vehicles, is giving customers free loaner cars until they can be fixed.
The problem is, the gasket is on national back order, no Ford Parts Depot has any.
