Freewheeling chromatic stripes

I'm looking for some paint/decal ideas for my F250 Supercab. First I started by finding the "Type 4" stripes listed in the parts catalog. That got me thinking of something 70's for my truck.

Then I found the Freewheeling Chromatic Stripes that Ford offered in the late 70's...

Cool!!!

I've got a friend with a sign shop that owes me a HUGE favor - So I know I can get them made for cost.

I was going to repaint the truck black and delete the Lariat moldings because they're broke/missing/fugly/etc. Solid black is cool but it's way too much truck to be all black.

Opinions? Freewheeling stripes? Some kind of panel striping like "Type 4"? Something else?

Pics are always helpful too.

The dealer-applied striping on my truck is similar in some respects to the freewheeling stripes, but is a little less over the top. It has grown on me over the last couple of years, you might like it too:
