Reseal power steering pump

The seals are cheap - about 11 bucks on line.
I suggest rethinking the rebuild. Its not as easy as it may seem.
24 steps to complete a overhaul and one scored area and it would be all for nothing.
Service Techs charge the same price basically; as a new pump with one exception it takes twice as long to do the job of the rebuild verse a simple replacement.
Theres a lot of small parts too. Compression rings and a compression tool is normally used along with a C-Clamp and vise.
To just pull and replace---
Disconnect return hose from pump reservoir and drain steering pump fluid
Remove the pressure hose from pump.
Remove the drive belt by lifting the belt tensioner out of position. Remove pump pulley, then the pump attaching bolts and pump.
Reverse procedure to install.
Note- on the reinstall dont forget to get them bolts in place before attaching the pully.
Do not over tighten the hose fitting or you will damage it. About 24ft pounds max
Your seal could have been damaged by belt alignment. Possible that there is something wrong with a stationary pully. Or it could be any number of other reasons, including age, old belt broke at one time or even the bearings seized up one time on the vac pump. Just hand check everything on the pullys when the belts off. The vac pump should have about a 1/8 inch shaft play in and out thats normal.
