ok here goes;

96 f350 w/7.3 psd was driving home truck just quit. check engine lite came on. coasted to a stop and tried to restart.
cel stays on
tac shows~200 rpm when cranking
no wts lite
h pop full was.75 qt low
all fuses are good ,cab and under hood
swiched all 4 relays in fuse box around
disconnected the icp and tried to start no go
gpr 1 big post has power; key on 2 small posts also have power ; other large post no power
thats all i can think of

any thoughts ?

What's the oil level on the dip stick show?

NO WTS is usually the fuel heater .. Is fuse 22 under the hood blown ?...

 

check the idm if there is water in it

 

he said all fuses are good

Posters have been wrong about fuses before
Water in the IDM won't set a CEL ....If all fuses are good .no WTS ," CEL stays on " he needs a PCM most likely ...OP , if you are running a chip it may have come loose ...

rodeywar will check tomorrow dark now. replaced idm 18 or 20 months ago
it was full of h2o (how does that happen?)

pcm question, location,cost and do they go out just like
that?

don't know . i have not chipped it. bought it used in 05 i think. where would a chip be, and how do i check it?

ok to answer your question about the idm filling with water the idm has a vent on the backside of the idm which allows water in it is a messed up design

 

pulled idm doesnt sound like it has h2o in it visually looks to be in good shape.

pulled pcm has a "chip" called diablo . looked like it was installed properly.
pulled it loose and re installed. visually pcm looked good no appearent burns or anything. clean and moisture and dust free on the inside.

found an extra cps inglove box will swap .
any other suggestions and opinions welcomed.
