tires tires tires
I have a 1993 Ford f150 with a 4.9 straight six. As of right now i have 2 inch taller coil springs ordered for it and i am in the research process of buying new tires. My question is should i buy a set of 32x11.50x15 or 31x10.50x15? I dont want the 31's to look too small when i put the coils in but i also dont want to take power away by putting 32's on.

I don't have any issues with 32's on my truck with the 4.9L. get 15ish mpg on the freeway (at 70-75) and 11-12 in town. Do you have a manual or automatic? I think when I calculated it out, your somewhere right between 3 and 3.15 overall gearing with 3.55 gears in your diff and 32" tires soo it's still not much worse than 2.73 gears as far as power off the line other than the rolling resistance of the tires.

Power loss with my current 33's and 3:55 is noticeable but not bad when unloaded. But it's a complete dog when attempting to pull a Trailer and I have the e4od and 351. Had a 14' enclosed trailer with my Polaris rzr in side and hd a hard time on a few hills but only manages to get 7mpg on the 500km round trip. Was $280 in gas lol
I'm plannin a 4:56 gear swap which will get me about stock feel when I go to 35's

This is back when I had a leveling kit and 35's.
If you have the leveling kit I would do 33's. more than likely they will be cheaper or the same price as 32's because of their popularity. then you could choose 33x12.50xR15 or 33x10.50xR15. I would recommending regearing for ANY kind of gain in tire size over factory. With 33's go to the junkyard and pick up some 4.10 gears and you're good.
