Made the move from a '46 Hudson PU to a new F-150 Limited "WOW!"

Love my new F-150 Limited 4x4 / bright white one with red interior....
I parked my old '46 Hudson ... may never drive it again ...

learning all the bells and whistles.. so far so good....only 380 miles so far
even has Sirrus porno radio??? ... I am way behind times I guess.

waiting for my new color matched Leer lid and bed rug to be installed
I bought the Ford factory rubber mats(front & back) and the rear inner fenders..(something Ford should make standard on a loaded Limited ..
nothing like factory fit.

love the eco boost V6 and 6 speed trans ... she scoots real good

with all the factory incentives & haggle factor .. got it down from sticker 54k to 47k... then added extended warranty and full service contract too ....
(too many computers to take a chance with)

it came from Future Ford in Roseville .. what a nightmare of paper work and dealing with a "guy" in the "tower" over net pricing ...I had planned on buying it from Cale over at Elk Grove Ford .. long story happened when a buddy got involved from Future....

Kinda poor prep & set up .. they did not set up my running boards or remove much of the protective plastic on the emblems etc ...don't think I will return there for service work

Ford sync my ride is awesome .. just a learning curve .. voice controls on everything ....

one thing I found out .. to replace a stolen tail gate $3,500 in parts from Ford .. they only sell it in pieces... so we added a radiator hose clamp on the bottom right hinge to slow down the hit and run thieves .. and of course keeping it locked.

it was way too much money to spend on a truck ...
.this will be my last new truck so i broke the piggy bank to get a truck with all the icing on it ...

Congrats on the new truck, you sure enjoy that "new car smell" don't you? I hope you have a great experience with your new toy... Drivetrain? I bet you got the big ol' 5.0 V8.

Congrats! I suffered technology shock going from an 05 F150 to my 12 so I can't imagine the awe coming from a '46 lol.

Encho, he mentions having the Eco boost

Yes I plan on keeping the Hudson -- (it's powered by 350 Chevy . 700r trans with a Camaro rear end)
--
as soon as I get time I will try to post pics of the both trucks using photo bucket

they are putting the tonneau on today and bed rug .. ....I have been driving the hell out of it

it handles so smooth and is a very comfortable ride ..all I can say is WOW.. what price luxury?

(now I need to sell my wives "rare" '40 Merc convertible to pay off the truck ..
it has an injected Mustang 5.0 GT engine , AOD trans / ac/ps /pb set up .. street rod .. not cheap $60k
email me at cruzerdog@mac.com if you want to see pics of that .. I do have interest from a Kiwi right now .it's has never been offered for sale since it was built in the 90's )

went to get Leer lid installed yesterday
... big oops ... paint flaw turned up right out of the shipping container
.. so back to the Leer factory for a redo ..
this PPG tri coat white is $$$ and hard to paint -- 3 stage
(I was charged $200 extra because of the PPG premimum paint .. wonder if that covers redos too

might take another 2 weeks before i get it ...

so pictures will be delayed ...

(note to Big Daddy .. as for the pics of the 40 Merc I don't think they fit the forum guidelines .. non Ford truck etc ... just email me and I will send those to you ... much easier than posting thru photo bucket ..
