Body side Molding (Wanted)

I went to the local body shops today to try to get a quote on replacing the side molding and pin stripe. Well... it is discontinued (figures) So my question is does anyone have any in good condition or know where to get new OEM match or NOS? trying to avoid the stuff in a roll seems like it won't look quite correct. I have a 97 f250 crew cab short bed powerstroke. Molding is black. Thanks

IF you can find the part number, you can do google search for them. I know a guy who has been gathering them for his CCLB

+ 1 on leaving them off. They're near impossible to find new and when used, they're difficult to remove from a junker without destroying them. I think when they're deleted, it makes the truck look cleaner, just my .02

Peronally I think it looks better without them.

Last time I looked I could get some from my local body supplier but that was a while back.

I got plenty, most of 2 CCLB and one ECLB worth, I don't think I would say it's in great condition but usable. PM me an address and paypal me a few bucks and I'll send it to ya.

Ohh and the trick to getting them off is solvent, run it down the crack, let it soak a bit, pull and peal a bit and do it again. I got most of mine off without messing it or my paint up too bad in about an hour.

Not to Hijack a thread but has anyone ever seen any molding OTHER then black? I saw a white truck with white molding and a red one with red molding last month at the junk yard and I had to say that was a first, never knew they made anything other then black.

Before I took mine off I had painted it, could be the same.

OP I'll call ya when I get a few where I can talk and have a better idea what I actually have. You should edit/delete your number, I wrote it down.

I have been thinking about replacing mine. The only option I can find if from LMC I believe. They show it being pre-cut to the correct sizes. Well, I guy a met said he bought it and its just off of a roll and cut. It doesn't have the finished off ends on each strip. That sounds lame to me. I'm on the fence about the trim. I like it because it saves the truck from door dings. I have none. Thats why I don't want to do away with it. I do see what some are saying about it looking better or cleaner with it removed, It kinda does.

I'm with TEX it does protect from door dings and my truck is very straight and I hope to do all I can to keep it that way. I looked for a long time to find this thing and I don't want to have some jerk beat it up for me. I was at the at the store the other day and had an OLD man (I would say 80's) Park next to me jerk his door handle and let the door fly right into my truck not even holding on to it as it swung open. Luckily I was in my old hunting truck and didn't care. If I were in my crew cab I would have had to say something and I would have felt bad getting mad at the old fart.
