Relay Use for 12V outlet

Hi I have 2010 F150 and want to use GPS on either the cigar lighter or 12V circuit so I don't have to unplug each time I start and stop the Truck.
My question is Which is best to use for switching? If you were ford marketing which one would you use? I will leave one on all the time, so what is the most logical one to switch?
It is a real simple mod as I will use existing the existing circuits, so from user point of view nothing changes except plug will go off with the key.
One other question is there a convenient ignition source for the relay coil nearby? I prefer ignition but an accessory source will work work too, it just will switch off engine during starting.
Thanks for your opinions.

Joe
