1940 1/2 Ton PU Donor Rear?

Whats a good rear end donor for my 1/2 Ton PU? It already has a Heidt's MII IFS hub to hub kit with Ford 5 on 4 1/2" and I will likely put a Ford SB 302 engine in it, so not too much of a power plant. Looking for a good junk yard find that I could put a SSBC disc brake system on that would compliment the front for wheel size and spacing. Would like to find the right spacing so I don't have to cut the axle to fit. Thoughts?

I have bought a '95 Ford explorer rear end. It was only 1/2" narrower than the original....

I used a 1979 Granada rear end on my '41 1/2 ton. '70s Mavericks and Granada's ran the same rear end. I'm running a 5.0 HO roller backed by a C-4 into that Granada rear end.

christurney77 - Thanks for sharing your build link...nice! Seems like 1/2" would be small enough of a difference that it would not be noticeable anywhere. Looks like you guys both used an automatic C-4 behind your engines. Did you go with a shifter on the column? Hopefully I can get a running drive train that I can drop in to get the truck up and running that I can rebuild later. Dropping in a later rear with the same bolt pattern w/disc brakes would be sweet. Calling bone yards tomorrow!
