FE Race and Reunion 4-27-13
On April 27th, 2013 (4/27) we will hold the first annual "FE Race & Reunion" at Beaver Springs Dragway in Beaver Springs, PA. This is an event celebrating the Ford FE Big block. It's a low key, high fun event. Track owner Beaver Bob of Beaver Springs is giving us the track for the entire day. An IHRA 1/4 mile drag strip at our disposal. We will have racing, TNT and a car show/cruise. There will be 2 FE race classes. Hot FE 12.99 - under and Cool FE 13.00 and up, bracket style. Beaver Bob is supplying trophies to both classes. Racing fee will be $40. When not racing we'll be testing and tuning so if you don't want to competitively race you can just have fun and make passes at your own pace all day long. All FE powered show cars are admitted free and eligible for an award by Beaver Bob. All spectators are free as well. I am trying to set up some good match races from some top FE racers. What else could you ask for? A drag strip with only FE powered cars. Beaver Bob has told me, he's not worried about the numbers but I think it would be in our best interest to support a track that is willing to do this for us. For everyone involved we hope it pans out to be an annual affair. So if you ever wanted to see what your FE can do in the quarter mile head out to Beaver Springs Dragway for the "FE Race & Reunion" on April 27, 2013 10AM-4PM.
We have everything covered for a successful show but it would make it nicer if we had some door prizes or prizes for the class winners. Parts, apparel, books, etc... all would be great. So if you are a shop owner or FE vendor and want to get some recognition (i.e. advertising time) won't you consider sponsoring some items or donating them?
The event flyer is at http://www.fairlanet.com/fe mark your calendars as we hope to see many of you FE aficionado's head North to Beaver Springs Dragway. We're 5 months away and will keep you all posted and reminders will be often. You may see posts on other sites as well and don't forget to tell your FE friends.
I hope I covered it all. If you have any questions you can email Doug or me (see flyer).
The Ford Big block FE engine was produced from 1958 until 1976. Sizes in cubic inch include 332, 352, 360, 390, 406, 410 427 & 428. If you’ve got one in a running vehicle bring it out to Beaver Springs Dragway on April 27, 2013.
Go to www.beaversprings.com and click on the schedule link. For those looking for something to do on Sunday, Beaver has their weekly Summit ET series racing.
We also have a Facebook group established to keep up with information about the event. To join click here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/422744294447955/

Just so you guys all know, this isn't just a race. There will be a show/cruise in for ALL FE powered vehicles. It is FREE to show or spectate. You can't beat that. Spread the word. Beaver Springs Dragway is worth the trip!!!
Also, this is the perfect oppurtunity if you've always wondered what your FE powered truck will run in a low pressure, laid back enviroment. You can race for a trophy or just make time shots. No pressure, just fun.

I took a quick look at their site and didn't see their restrictions. Do you know of any other requirements? Would a lap belt be enough? Sorry about the questions but I want to know before I make plans to go. Thanks

Beaver Springs is pretty "racer friendly" with their tech. If you have seatbelts and what appears to be a safe vehicle you should be fine. Things such as missing or broken wheel studs, no battery hold down or cracked windshield may get you bounced in tech. A helmet would be a good idea if one is available.

Hey folks, first I want to thank you all for showing interest and support for the FE Race & Reunion to be held at Beaver Springs Dragway on April 27 (4/27). An important change has come up. Beaver Springs has been put into a position where they will need to charge a spectator admission fee of $10. None of us are happy with this sudden change but due to circumstances it appears necessary and I’ll explain so you have the whole story. It’s pretty simple. What we thought was going to be a few FE guys bringing out their cars on a test and tune day, grill some hot dogs, bench race and make some passes has turned into a full blown event. The interest and sponsor support have pushed this into a major event at Beaver. Beaver Bob tells it like this. His insurance company has deemed the event a race and not a Tnt, triple the insurance premium and VHT price and initial amount figured for the event has doubled. So to offset Beaver Springs expenses it has become clear that we need to let Beaver Springs charge a $10 spectator fee. We hope you all understand. To keep this event going for years to come we need to help the facility, Beaver Springs with this issue. Beaver Bob has helped take the show to a higher level so we need to respond and do our part to keep the show going successfully for now and for years to come.
Put your car on the track is still $40 (all crew in your tow vehicle are free)
Car show participants are free, so bring out your FE. Drive one and get in free, includes your passengers.
Spectators age 16-up - $10, (age 15 – under free)
Participants (with any FE race or show) receive a “Participant” decal, first 200 spectators receive a special event decal.
Pass the word – see you at the Beaver on 4/27
We apologize for the late changes.

To bad the FE race/reunion is not on the west coast. It would be a fun event.
