33x12.5R16.5 tires (TSL radials or TRXUS MT) on a stock '86 F-250 4x4, Dana 50 frt and 10.25" rear.
Will they fit? Anyone running this setup? I plan on putting in add-a-leafs front and back, but for about 6 months they will have to be run stock...

Well, I decided last night to get rid of the 16.5" rims, I've been told they don't hold a bead very well and the tire choices are very limited. I'm going to go with a regular 16" black rock-crawler rim. That opens up my tires choices. I'm looking at the Bridgestone Duller M/T and the Bridgestone A/T Revos now.
I'm using the add-a-leafs not only for a little extra height, but also for when the plow is on and I have my trailer hooked up.

My '86 F250 had 33x12.5x16.5's on it when I bought it. It had already been changed to 4.10 (4.11?) gears. (When you do the calculations, the larger tires with the taller gears comes out close to stock final drive ratio)
I can't say as I know of any other mods. There is absolutely no problem with clearances even under pretty serious loads. In two years I have had no problems with the tires, or wheels. My only gripe is the mud grip tires are noisy and I don't off-road enough to speak of. But I'll run them until I need new and replace with an all-season type.
You are right about the narrower range of choices for a 16.5" tire, but there are about a dozen if you look and how many do you really need?
My input, for what it's worth.

I'm running, 32 11.50 r 15 on a stock 84 f-150 without any problems of rubbing, actually they don't even come close to rubbing thanks to wider rims with a good deal of backspacing.
By the way, I know this is off topic but how do you post pics on a thread?

Great, thanks for all the help guys... I got the plow off and the 700 lbs of sand out of it this weekend and from your input and eyeballing the truck I'm going to go with a set of 16x8 white spoke rims with the Bridgestone Revo A/Ts. The A/Ts are 33.3 by 11.5, so they should fit nicely with or without the add-a-leafs. Boy she sits alot higher with all that crap off of her.
