PROBLEMS STARTING A 1995 F800....

Ok....so I took the truck to the dump, dumped out the load, went to the gas station to fill it up, and it will not start!! I had a guy, with another diesel truck try and jump it, but to no avail. Drove the damn thing all day, yesterday, with no issues!!??

The starter is cranking real slow, and not a full rotation. Went and bought a new starter, while waiting for a bigger tow truck to tow it for me. Put it in, and the same thing.

Not to mention, the back brakes are locked, since it will not start, to release the parking brake. I'm not to worried about that.

The only real odd thing that happened, is, while jumping it with the other truck, when we tried to start it, the trottle lock cable began to smoke!!

Someone said to check all the grounds on the truck??
I am at a loss.....any and all help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,

Goodwood

My guess is you do indeed have a bad ground. i would check to make sure that your motor is properly grounded to the frame. good luck!

The person that said check the grounds probibly saw the throttle cable smoking. And they are probibly right about that too. THe reason it smoked is because it WAS the ground.
Once you fix the grounding problem you will most likely need a new throttle lock cable as well.
