My new baby!
Greetings all! New member here from Christiansburg, VA. I recently acquired this 64 F350 dump truck. I love it! I believe it is original, at least the engine and transmission. How can I tell for sure? It leaks everywhere so must work on installing new seals. Or I could treat it like the Navy jets I worked on for 23 years, if they quit leaking it was because somebody forgot to put more in it! Thanks for all the info being shared here, I will try to add from my experiences getting this truck back to better condition.

Post the warranty plate info and I or a few others can decode it for you. it will be located on the drivers door rear latch face below the latch. Depending on what has/hasnt been changed, theres a very slim chance it could also be on the inside of the glovebox door..typically it was there through 63 model year...

I am thinking the same thing. I drove it home from Rogersville, TN, about 160 miles. It ran great, I babied it the whole way and stopped five or six times to check the oil. It didn't use any oil! I am going to go out today and clean it up to try and determine where most of the oil is coming from.

Did a couple hours of powerwashing today and found that the pinion seal is leaking. And also the cylinder for the dump bed is leaking also. I can handle the pinion seal but the dump bed cylinder is crossing over into the unknown for me. Anyone out there that can share some expertise with me? Is it just an oring? What are the basic procedures? Thanks, Jeff.

Cylinder for dump bed is not a Ford part, neither is the dump bed. Whoever manufactured the bed installed the hydraulic ram cylinder, other related parts.
Your truck has a 6 digit DSO, the last 4 digits refer to the Domestic Special Order number.
Customers ordered features not available as RPO's (Regular Production Orders), so what FoMoCo did was send the vehicles out to aftermarket suppliers after they left the assembly line to have special features installed (dump, utility beds, 4WD conversions and etc.).
If parts were needed for the special equipment, dealers contacted FoMoCo, passed along the DSO. FoMoCo looked up the order number, than passed the info back to the dealers where the parts could be found.
This same DSO system is still used today, but...there is no way today to find diddly-squat info for these trucks, because FoMoCo THREW AWAY all the records decades ago.
All that's available today is the scant production figures kept for the entire autobiz by R. L. Polk & Co. Figures for F100/350's are in "The Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Trucks 1905-2002" / ISBN: 0-87349-411-3 (out of print).
I have this reference (and dozens of others).

Took the dump cylinder off today. Need to get a repack kit. I have been trying for a few hours now to get the snap ring or whatever it is called out of the end of it. The ring is around the outside of the large inside piece seen here.
and here: I have tried a few different tools and tried to make some with the grinder but can't get anything strong and hard enough to get behind the ring and pull it out. It is very tight in there. Any ideas???

Its difficult to tell the special equipment your truck has from photo. Upper directional signals were optional and so were the west coast style mirrors, however your arms and heads are off a newer 1967+ model, in '64 the arms were shorter and came painted gray. I bet the frame was reinforced and heavier springs were added, a common upgrade on F600's.
